The after-dinner walk

A 10-minute post-dinner stroll has known and documented health benefits including reduced incidences of heart disease and "postprandial" (after-meal) blood sugar spikes. It helps move glucose (sugar) from the blood into the muscles to improve insulin sensitivity; and provides gentle movement, community connection, and stress reduction. And, it's a relaxing way to finish the day! What are you doing after dinner?

Or, if you are unable to work, try:

• Seated Calf Raises for five to ten minutes

• Dancing, put on music and dance for five to ten minutes (go on, dig out those Rolling Stones, Abba or Credence records!)
